We are looking for an Automotive Service Advisor who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about providing the best service to our customers. The Service Advisor is the first person that the customer interacts with, and they are an essential position that bridges the gap between technicians and the customer. This position is technically a sales position but places emphasis on a world-class customer experience above all else.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Open and close the shop.
- Schedule customer vehicle appointments and manage resources to provide an expedient experience for the customer.
- Greet customers and check in vehicles for drop off utilizing existing processes to ensure a uniform customer experience.
- Perform walk around procedure with customers to retrieve information off their vehicle when they arrive.
- Utilize professional and courteous phone skills to answer and assist customers with questions regarding scheduling, vehicle estimations, and more, as well as monitor the company voicemail and provide callbacks.
- Assign and manage daily workload and provide them to the correct technician.
- Create repair order recommendations for customers, utilizing digital vehicle inspections.
- Utilize a labor guide along with technician knowledge to determine correct labor hours for the estimate and utilize labor matrix to determine proper labor pricing.
- Utilize a parts markup matrix to determine correct profit margin on parts.
- Source the required parts at the right quality replacement level based on customer need and plans for their vehicle – including utilizing phone and internet parts vendors and interacting with dealership parts departments.
- Call customers and discuss their digital vehicle inspection and advise them on the recommended repairs/services, gain approval for the repairs/services, and provide an estimate for when the repairs/services will be completed.
- Call the customer when repairs/services are completed and explain to them what was completed and take payment over the phone if requested.
- Provide thank you calls to all customers 3-5 days after their vehicle is retrieved.
- Manage and drive efficiencies in the day-to-day operations of the shop and staff.
- Maintain legible and accurate electronic records for the customer and our records. Keep the shop clean and maintained to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair.
- Track weekly KPI’s and drive results to achieve targets.
- Provide an exceptional customer experience and develop relationships with our customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED required.
- 2+ years’ experience with high-end, high-touch customer service and/or sales.
- 2+ years of automotive repair industry experience.
- Must be tech savvy and have experience using shop management & estimating software.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with the service and maintenance of a wide range of makes and models.
- Experience recruiting, training, and managing automotive technicians.
- Knowledge of diagnostic tools and equipment is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States – we are an E-Verify employer.
- Must have a valid and current driver’s license.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. .
The working conditions for this position can be noisy and dirty. Must be able to function in a noisy and dirty environment. Hot and cold conditions may be experienced when going outside to provide the walk around procedure for their vehicles. All weather service will be required – must be able to report to work in excessive summer heat and winter conditions – must be able to drive all types of vehicles including manual transmission vehicles including large and small vehicles. The compensation for this position is negotiable based on experience in the $50,000 to $70,000 base + commission range. Franklynn Automotive is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform automotive repairs & maintenance, including engine repair, transmission repair, heating & A/C repair, steering & suspension repair, exhaust repair, alignments, general maintenance, etc.
- Communicate with the GM & Shop Foreman to effectively manage orders and customer communications.
- Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify their soundness.
- Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and our records.
- Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair. 7
- Provide exceptional customer experience at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED preferred.
- ASE certifications preferred but not required. We will provide you with the skills and tools needed to pass all the ASE tests, all the way to the Master level. We will even pay for the tests so long as you achieve a passing grade!
- 3+ years of automotive technician/mechanic experience required.
- Ability to operate auto repair tools and perform the most standard repairs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Must have your own tools.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States – we are an E-Verify employer.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Ability to work Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
